Εμείς, γιατί τους ανεχθήκαμε;
σε ανομήματα κραυγαλέα δίχως ελαφρυντικά;
Πώς τους τα επιτρέψαμε όλ’ αυτά;

There aren’t winners and losers in the war.
Not but least
to see the little orphans of the traffic-lights…

Mother’s Blessing and Pen are Valuable Asset to Nikos Batsikanis.

I know the name of Nikos Batsikanis on the Greek literary horizon. I can assert that he has attained this glittering and glorifying position because of his remarkable contribution and astonishing dedication in the literary field. His voyeur such as Signs, From the Skies, A Tasty Day, In Paradise, awakening, In the Light and Fragments speak volume of his caliber, sense, sensibility, observation, feelings and thoughts accumulated in his experiences and executed by virtue of his wisdom.
I have gone through his 32 poems. One of the smallest poems in this collection is Sensational Love which consists of two lines and bear nine words only. Wow, really a great skill of him to express mind in minimum of words. Despite so small it contains powerful meaning that touches the seventh sky where is the aboard of the Creator and the debauch can’t fly […]
The title of the poem Honesty visualizes the road where human beings have to tread everyday for various purposes are tough, long, up-slope, hard-trodden and deserted and very daunting and challenging to follow in one’s life. However, Batsikanis pledges to move on such a difficult road until the finishing line.
We must have a look at the import of the synonym of honesty which is, by far, rampart everywhere of the globe. If we understand and are aware of dishonesty, only then the significance and dimension of it come before us. Honesty bearing society or nation prospers which is boom for its people. We can sum up we must adopt it despite numerous odds.
There is a chain, one after another, me, you, and then others. Alive conscience restricts involvement in complicity. Evil doers are punished but don’t forget to remain silent is also a punishable offence as silence justifies siding the crimes. Hence the poet raises question to make it ample clear:
                        Why did we tolerate such an attitude?
                        Why did we become silent?....
                        ………………………………..
                        How did we allow them to do all these?

If we remain silent on the wrong doings, it means that we share in complicity. Be vigilant and never allow it to occur. To keep our societies intact carry your social responsibility. […]
Batsikanis has aptly states that “There aren’t winners and losers in war.” Just “see the little orphans of the traffic-lights.”. He ponders and explores the earnings of the whole lives:
In my life, I’ve held what’s necessary –my mother’s blessing, a ray of light ...and my pen. […]
